Quick Start Guide

Get your first worship lyric video exported in under 10 minutes. Follow these six steps and you'll be ready for Sunday.

Step by Step

Load your audio

Drag an MP3, WAV, M4A, or AAC file onto the audio drop zone on the left panel, or click it to browse your files.

Get your lyrics

Click the Auto tab and type the song title and artist — e.g. "Amazing Grace Chris Tomlin" — then click Search. Results marked ⏱ include timestamps and load instantly.

Check the timing

Press Play and watch the preview canvas. If any lines are early or late, drag their block on the timeline to adjust.

Style your video

Open the Style tab on the right panel. Choose your font, size, color, and text position. Open Background to pick a color theme, upload a photo, or search Pexels for a free video background.

Save your project

Click the Library tab and click Save Project. Your audio, lyrics, timing, and style are all saved together so you can reopen and re-export anytime.

Export your video

Click the Export tab, choose your resolution, then click Export Now. Your MP4 is saved to your Exports folder — ready for Proclaim, ProPresenter, or EasyWorship.

💡

Your church name, CCLI number, and logo only need to be entered once in Settings — they appear on every video automatically.

Supported Audio Formats

WMA files are converted to MP3 automatically. If a file still won't load it may be corrupted — try re-exporting it from your source.

Compatible Presentation Software

WorshipVid exports standard MP4 files that work in any presentation software:

  • Proclaim — import as a media item
  • ProPresenter — add to your library as a video
  • EasyWorship — insert as a video background
  • PowerPoint / Keynote — insert as a video slide

Auto Lyric Search

WorshipVid searches multiple lyric databases simultaneously and returns results with or without timestamps.

How to Search

Click the Auto tab

Found in the Lyrics panel on the left side of the screen.

Type title and artist

For best results include both — e.g. "How Great Is Our God Chris Tomlin". Avoid punctuation.

Click Search

Results appear in a list. Each result shows the source and whether it has timestamps.

Click a result to load it

Synced results load with timing already set. 📄 Plain results load lyrics only — use Auto-Sync to add timing.

💡

If nothing comes up, try removing the artist name, or check the spelling. Some songs use alternate titles in the database.

Understanding Result Types

  • ⏱ Synced — timestamps included, loads instantly with full timing
  • 📄 Plain — lyrics only, requires Auto-Sync or manual timing

Song Not Found?

Not every song is in the database — especially newer releases or hymns. If a search returns nothing, switch to the Manual tab and paste your lyrics directly. See the Manual Entry guide for details.

Manual Lyric Entry

Paste any lyrics directly into WorshipVid — useful for original songs, hymns not in the database, or when you want full control over every line.

How to Enter Lyrics Manually

Click the Manual tab

In the Lyrics panel on the left side of the screen.

Paste or type your lyrics

Each line becomes one lyric line on screen. Section headers like [Verse 1] or [Chorus] are removed automatically.

Click Load Lyrics

Your lines appear in the lyric editor below the timeline.

Add timing

Click Auto-Sync to have Whisper AI time the lyrics to your audio automatically, or drag the timeline blocks manually.

💡

Keep each line short — ideally one sung phrase per line. Long lines may overflow the canvas depending on your font size.

Editing Individual Lines

Click any lyric line in the editor to select it. The Lyric Edit Bar below the timeline gives you these tools:

  • Edit text — click the text field to retype a line
  • Nudge timing — shift the selected line by 0.1 second increments
  • Insert — add a new blank line before or after
  • Duplicate — copy the line including its timing
  • Delete — remove the line
  • Merge — combine two adjacent lines into one
💡

All edits support Undo (Ctrl+Z) — so don't be afraid to experiment.

Timing & Sync

Make your lyrics appear exactly when they're sung. WorshipVid gives you both automatic and manual timing tools.

Auto-Sync (Whisper AI)

Auto-Sync uses Whisper AI to listen to your audio and match every lyric line to the exact moment it's sung.

Load your audio and lyrics first

Auto-Sync needs both before it can run.

Click ♪ Auto-Sync

Found in the Lyrics panel. The process takes 10–60 seconds depending on song length.

Review the result

Press Play and watch the preview. Adjust any lines that are slightly off using the timeline or nudge buttons.

💡

Auto-Sync works best with clear vocal recordings. Heavy reverb or background noise may affect accuracy.

Manual Timeline Editing

Every lyric line appears as a colored block on the timeline. You can:

  • Drag a block left or right to shift when the line appears
  • Drag the left edge to change the start time
  • Drag the right edge to change how long it stays on screen
  • Scroll to zoom the timeline for fine adjustments

Shift All Lines at Once

Use the Timing buttons at the top of the Lyrics panel to shift every line simultaneously:

  • −1s −½s +½s +1s — shift all lines by that amount

This is useful when the whole song is consistently early or late by the same amount.

Inserting Lines

Use the Insert buttons to add a blank line at the playhead position or at the end of the song — useful for adding a gap or a repeated chorus.

My Backgrounds Library

Upload your own photos and videos to use as backgrounds. Your library is stored locally and shared across your team if you use a shared folder.

Adding Backgrounds

  • Drag and drop — drag image or video files directly onto the Background drop zone
  • Browse files — click Add Files to open a file picker
  • From Pexels — search and save free stock photos and videos (see Pexels Search guide)

Using a Background

Click any item in your library to set it as the current background. The preview canvas updates instantly. For video backgrounds, playback controls appear below the canvas.

Brightness & Overlay

Use the Brightness and Overlay sliders to darken a background so your text stays readable. A dark overlay at 40–60% works well for most backgrounds.

Shared Library (Team Use)

If your church has multiple computers, you can point your library to a shared folder on OneDrive, Google Drive, or a network drive. Go to Settings → Song Library → Change Folder and select your shared location. Everyone pointing to the same folder shares the same backgrounds.

Pexels Background Search

Search millions of free stock photos and videos from Pexels directly inside WorshipVid — no account needed.

How to Search

Open the Background tab

Click Background in the right panel, then click the Search tab.

Type a search term

Try terms like "sunrise worship", "cross silhouette", "forest light", or "ocean waves".

Filter by type

Choose Photos, Videos, or Both using the toggle buttons.

Click a result to preview

The background loads instantly on the canvas so you can see how it looks with your lyrics.

Click Save to Library

Downloads the file to your Backgrounds library for use in this and future projects.

Use the preset buttons — Mountains, Sunrise, Cross, Candles, Stained Glass — for quick worship-themed searches.

⚠️ Only use content you have a valid license for. Pexels content is free for most uses but always check the individual license before using in a livestream or broadcast.

Exporting Your Video

WorshipVid exports your lyric video as a standard MP4 file ready for any presentation software.

How to Export

Open the Export tab

Click Export in the right panel tab bar.

Choose your resolution

1080p is recommended for most projectors and screens. See Resolution & Quality for details.

Click Export Now

A progress bar shows rendering status. Do not close the app while exporting.

Open the Exports folder

Click Open Exports Folder when complete. Your MP4 is there and ready to use.

💡

Save your project before exporting — if anything goes wrong you can re-export without re-entering everything.

Export Queue

Click Add to Queue instead of Export Now to line up multiple songs. Click Run Queue to process them all in order — useful for preparing a full Sunday service.

Where Are My Files?

By default exports are saved to your Documents → WorshipVid Exports folder. You can change this to a USB drive, NAS, or shared folder in Settings → Exports Folder.

Resolution & Quality

Choose the right resolution for your screen and projector setup.

Recommended Settings

  • 1080p (1920×1080) — best for most churches. Works on all modern projectors and screens.
  • 4K (3840×2160) — for high-end displays and future-proofing. Larger file size and longer export time.
  • 720p (1280×720) — faster export, smaller file. Good for older projectors.

Frame Rate

  • 30 fps — standard for most church presentations
  • 60 fps — smoother motion for video backgrounds

Video Looks Blurry on the Projector

This is almost always a presentation software setting rather than a WorshipVid issue. Check:

  • Your presentation software output resolution matches the projector resolution
  • The video is not being stretched — use the "fit" or "fill" option in your software
  • Export at 1080p or higher — 720p can look soft on large screens

Hardware Acceleration

WorshipVid automatically detects if your computer has a compatible GPU and uses hardware acceleration for faster exports. You can see the detected encoder in the Export tab. If no GPU is found, it falls back to software encoding which is slower but produces identical quality.

Save your entire project — audio, lyrics, timing, and style — and reopen it anytime to edit or re-export.

Saving a Project

Open the Library tab

Click Library in the right panel tab bar.

Click Save Project

If this is a new song, enter a title and artist. If you've saved it before, choose whether to update the existing project or save as new.

Done

The project appears in your library list. It includes everything — audio file, lyrics, timing, font, colors, and background.

Opening a Saved Project

Click any song in the Library list to load it. Everything is restored exactly as you left it. Click the song again to re-export without changing anything.

Deleting a Project

Click the trash icon next to any project in the Library list. This removes the project from the library but does not delete any exported MP4 files from your Exports folder.

💡

Build a library of your most-used songs over time — reopen, tweak the timing if needed, and export fresh for each service in seconds.

Shared Library (Team Use)

Point multiple computers to the same folder so your whole worship team shares one song library.

How It Works

WorshipVid stores each project as a folder on your computer. If you move that folder to a shared location — OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, or a network drive — every computer pointing to that location shares the same projects.

Setting Up a Shared Folder

Choose a shared location

Create a folder called "WorshipVid Library" inside your OneDrive, Google Drive, or network share.

Open Settings in WorshipVid

Click the gear icon in the top right.

Click Change Folder under Song Library

Navigate to your shared folder and click Select.

Repeat on every computer

Each computer needs to point to the same shared folder. Once done, all machines see the same song library.

💡

Make sure the shared folder is always synced before opening WorshipVid. If OneDrive or Google Drive hasn't finished syncing, some projects may not appear.

Troubleshooting

Common issues and how to fix them quickly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Lyrics are showing too early or too late
Use the Timing buttons (−1s −½s +½s +1s) at the top of the Lyrics panel to shift all lines at once. For individual lines, click the line in the editor and use the nudge buttons (−0.1s / +0.1s) in the Lyric Edit Bar. If the whole song is off by the same amount, the global shift buttons are the fastest fix.
Export failed or no file was created
Check that your Exports folder exists and is writable. Go to Settings → Exports Folder and confirm the path. If you're exporting to a USB drive or network location, make sure it's connected and has space. Try exporting to your local Documents folder first to confirm the issue is location-related.
No lyrics found in search
Try adding the artist name: "Amazing Grace Chris Tomlin". If still nothing, the song may not be in the database. Switch to the Manual tab, paste your lyrics, and use Auto-Sync to add timing.
Audio file won't load
Supported formats are MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, WMA, OGG, and FLAC. WMA files are converted automatically. If the file still won't load it may be corrupted — try re-exporting it from your source application or converting it online first.
Project audio is missing after reopening
The audio is stored inside the project folder in your library. If the library folder was moved or renamed, go to Settings → Song Library → Change Folder and point back to the correct location. The audio file will be found automatically.
Video looks pixelated or blurry on the projector
Export at 1080p or higher. Also check that your presentation software output resolution matches your projector — some systems downscale to match a lower projector resolution. In Proclaim and ProPresenter, set the output to 1920×1080.
Auto-Sync result is inaccurate
Auto-Sync works best with clear vocal recordings. If your audio has heavy reverb, a lot of background instrumentation, or spoken sections mixed with singing, accuracy may be reduced. After Auto-Sync, manually adjust any lines that are off using the timeline drag handles.
Settings were reset after reinstall
Re-enter your church name, CCLI number, and folder paths in Settings. Your song library projects are not affected as long as the library folder still exists on disk — just point Settings back to it and everything reappears.
The app is slow or laggy during export
Exporting is CPU and GPU intensive. Close other heavy applications while exporting. If you have a compatible GPU, WorshipVid will use hardware acceleration automatically. Exporting at 4K takes significantly longer than 1080p — use 1080p unless you specifically need 4K.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many computers can I install it on?
One license covers one computer. If you need to install on a second machine, contact support and we'll help you transfer your license.
Do I get free updates?
Yes — all minor updates within your purchased version are free. Major new versions (e.g. version 2.0) may require an upgrade purchase at a discounted price for existing customers.
I lost my license key — how do I get it back?
Check your original purchase email from Gumroad. If you can't find it, email [email protected] with your purchase email address and we'll resend it.
Can I use WorshipVid for livestreaming?
Yes. The exported MP4 files can be used in any streaming setup. Make sure your CCLI Streaming License covers any copyrighted songs — enter your license number in Settings so it appears on every video.
I'm in beta — do I need a license?
No. Beta users have full access with the beta key provided. When the beta period ends you'll be prompted to purchase a full license at a special beta user discount.
