⚡ Quick Start — 5 Steps
1Load your audio — Click the upload area on the left and select your MP3 or WAV file.
2Search for lyrics — Type the song name in the Auto tab and click Search. Click a result to load lyrics and timestamps automatically.
3Check the timing — Press Play and watch the preview. Use the timeline to adjust any lines that are off.
4Style it — Go to the Style tab on the right to change fonts, colors, and text size. Go to Background for visual themes.
5Export — Click the Export button in the top bar. First export downloads FFmpeg (~15s). Then it renders and produces an MP4 file.
🎵 Working with Lyrics
Auto Search — Type a song title (or "Title by Artist" for better results) and click Search. Results marked ⏱ Synced include timestamps and load instantly. Results marked 📄 Plain need manual timing.
Manual Entry — Switch to the Manual tab and paste your lyrics. Use the Auto-Sync button to have the app time them to the audio automatically.
Editing lines — Use the Lyric Edit Bar below the timeline to insert, duplicate, merge, delete or nudge lines. All edits support Undo (Ctrl+Z).
CCLI — When you load lyrics the app automatically looks up CCLI licence info and shows it in the bottom corner of the video for the first few seconds.
⏱ Adjusting Timing
Timeline — Each coloured block on the timeline represents one lyric line. Drag blocks left or right to shift timing. Drag the edges to change start or end time.
Nudge buttons — Select a line by clicking it in the preview, then use ◀ .1s and .1s ▶ in the Lyric Edit Bar to shift it by 0.1 second increments.
Timing Offset — If all lyrics are consistently early or late, use the Timing Offset slider in the Lyrics tab to shift everything at once.
Zoom — Use the Zoom slider above the timeline to zoom in for precise editing of closely spaced lines.
🎨 Styling Your Video
Style tab — Change font, text size, colour, bold/italic, shadow strength, and vertical position of lyrics.
Background tab — Choose from preset colour themes, upload a photo or video background, or create an AI-generated animated background using a text prompt.
Settings (⚙) — Set your church name, CCLI licence number, logo, and default export resolution. These save automatically and persist between sessions.
Dark/Light mode — Toggle in the top bar. Affects the editor only — not the exported video.
📽 Exporting Your Video
First export — Downloads FFmpeg (about 15-20 seconds). Subsequent exports skip this step.
Export time — A 3-4 minute song at 1080p/30fps typically takes 5-15 minutes depending on your computer speed. 720p is significantly faster.
Output format — Exports as MP4 (H.264). Compatible with Proclaim, ProPresenter, EasyWorship and most church presentation software.
Using in Proclaim — In Proclaim, add a new item → Video → browse to your exported MP4. Set it to loop if needed.
Resolution — 1080p (1920×1080) is standard HD. 720p (1280×720) exports faster and is sufficient for most projectors.
🔧 Troubleshooting
Export failed — SharedArrayBuffer error — The site needs special browser headers. Make sure you are using the hosted version at lyricast.pages.dev, not opening the HTML file directly from your desktop.
Lyrics are early or late — Use the Timing Offset slider in the Lyrics tab to shift all lines at once. Or drag individual blocks on the timeline.
No lyrics found in search — Try adding the artist name: "Amazing Grace Chris Tomlin". Some songs are not in the database — use the Manual tab to paste lyrics instead.
Audio won't load — Supported formats are MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG. Make sure the file is not corrupted.
Settings were reset — Settings are saved in your browser. Clearing browser data or using a different browser will reset them. Use Settings → Export to save a backup file.
Video looks pixelated — Make sure you exported at 1080p, not 720p. Check your presentation software is set to full HD output.
